Awarded for her artistic prowess, Atlanta native Jai McClendon Jones is the Visionary & Artistic Director of award-winning performing arts training & development brand, AREA, Atlanta’s Resource for Entertainment & Arts LLC. Touting locations in Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL with a non-profit 501c(3) vertical, AREA Non-Profit, Inc., Jai celebrates over two decades of serving the Atlanta community, and has forged a legacy and trademark of excellence, cultivating talented youth impacting the industry, and the development of strategic partnerships with Atlanta Public Schools, The Weber School (Jewish Community High School), Boys & Girls Club of America, Girl Scouts of America, Kenny Leon’s True Color Theater Company, La Danse Noire, Dunham Institute of Atlanta, National Black Arts Festival, Living Your Art, and global artist, India.Arie to name a few.
A renowned choreographer for television, commercial, and stage, Jai is regularly tapped by corporations, organizations, record labels, managers and celebrities to provide artist development, choreography, performance creation, and/or instruction around metropolitan Atlanta and throughout the United States. Labeled as having the “Midas Touch”, Jai’s keen attention to detail and ability to bring the artistic talents out of any project or student at hand has marked her as this generation’s true Artistic trailblazer! She has also created one of a kind performing arts curriculums, performances, and, artistically-based outreach programs focusing on mentorship, training, and leadership with over twenty organizations, public and/or charter schools in GA and AL adopting these programs. Jai’s and AREAs impact in the performing arts exceed 50,000+ youth!
Jai leads the Organization’s initiatives and responsible for overseeing the artistic and business leadership of AREA including: artistic direction, planning, fiscal controls, raising funds, and promoting AREAs organizational activities of education and outreach. Thus, her strategic plan and goals areas of AREA: Community Engagement, Sustainability, Artistic Diversity, Development & Training, and Visibility dictate a true vision of growth and long-term success for this ever-growing Organization!
A veteran of the arts and entertainment industry as a Director, Choreographer, Instructor, Consult, and Philanthropist; BS Degree in Business (Marketing); 28+ years of Training & Professional Development; Member of renowned Arts organizations; Served on adjudication panels, Jai offers a solid analytical and creative vision, professionalism, and “one of a kind” supporting facilities that provide for a fusion of arts and business acumen at its best!

Balancing her strong analytical skills with her artistic passion, Crystal previous background also included serving as Ambassador Dr. Juanita Bynum’s exclusive photographer and creative director for over 10 years. Crystal’s experience includes extensive international travel with photography shoots in London, Amsterdam, Durban, Johannesburg, Lagos, Ghana, and across the nation.
Crystal’s leadership has enabled AREA to have a proven track record of revenue growth and stability, increasing the company’s footprint into new geographies and integration of new service capabilities.
PETER BRYANT | LEAD INSTRUCTOR & CO-DIRECTOR AREA PERFORMING ENSEMBLE
Peter Bryant began studying dance at Carver High School of the Arts where he received training in ballet, modern, jazz, musical theater and contemporary from a roster of esteemed Dance Instructors and renowned Choreographers. Upon graduating he joined AREA and TAPA, the AREA Professional Alliance, and has been apart of the company since 2012, as well as a freelance artist around the U.S. Peter grew to have a strong passion for teaching and has been regarded as an emerging choreographer, melding his unique artistic aesthetic and attention to detail in contemporary and jazz dance styles. Peter has received recognition and won numerous awards from respected Conventions and Competitions, sat on panels, and adjudicated for the Georgia Governors Honors Program.
